My practice concerns itself with an appreciation for the unknown and the unclear. Projects take the form of outdoor long-exposure photographs and underwater photography. Subject matter includes the nighttime landscape, the element of water and the issue of the passing of time.

Intuitively, my work stems from an interest in poetry and the quest to pinpoint what makes something poetic. I can say that a work of art is poetic when it summarizes an experience in an original and telling way. In this regard, I intend for my work to be poetic. I aim to make my subject matter appear more unusual and expressive than how we commonly perceive it.

The goal of this is to inspire a childlike excitement for the inscrutability of the world around us, as well as a thoughtful reflection on our connection with the land. Optimism is also paramount in my work. Ultimately, I want to suggest that we should have a certain reverence for the beauty and the mystery of life as it is.
